nanoLOC Development Kit V3.0 - Demo Software

The Fast and Convenient Way To Develop Distance and Location-Aware Wireless Applications

The nanoLOC Development Kit 3.0 includes an extensive set of applications that demonstrate nanoLOC ranging and robust communication capabilities. All embedded applications are provided as source code as a starting point for developing your own applications. [1]

nanoLOC Location Demo
GUI and embedded software for locating tags in 2D space. The Location Demo’s client /server technology allows up to sixteen tags using up to sixteen anchor nodes to be remotely monitored. The Location Demo is user-configurable providing free anchor positioning, tag tracing, and data logging with playback option.

nanoLOC Ranging Demo
GUI and embedded software for performing ranging (distance measurements) between two nanoLOC nodes. The anchor node (reader) is connected via RS-232 to a PC, while the (battery-powered) tag is moved freely to perform the measurements.

nanoLOC Talk Demo
GUI and embedded software to demonstrate point-to-point wireless communication. An single embedded application flashed to two nanoLOC DK Boards sends and receives chat text while a Windows®-based application displays and provides the chat text. This demo can also be run using the command line.

nanoLOC Throughput Demo
GUI and embedded software to demonstrate data throughput on a nanoLOC wireless link.

nanoLOC Packet Sniffer Demo
GUI and embedded software for easy debugging of the air interface.

Additional Applications
Additional embedded applications include a simple Ping Demo and a Remote Light Switch (sensor/actor type) Demo. The Ping Demo uses two nodes to verify wireless communication, while the Remote Light Switch Demo switches on and off an LED on a remote station (nanoLOC DK Board) to demonstrate a simple sensor/actor application using nanoLOC.

nanoLOC nTRX Driver
Provides an API for applications and sends MAC layer messages to the nanoLOC chip over the SPI interface. Can be integrated into nanoLOC-based wireless applications.

Flashing and Debugging Tools
Includes the Atmel AVR STK 500 Development System for Windows® and the JTAG Programming Adapter.

[1] Windows®-based GUIs are not provided as source code.
